The University of Pittsburgh’s Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, PA. The Petersen Events Center is a state of the art facility that is a short 5-minute drive off of I-376. The Petersen Events center hosts the Pitt Panthers Division 1 men’s and women’s basketball teams, concerts, commencements and recreational activities for the students of Pitt. The weekend is a great time to drive into the city…no traffic or rush hour! There are hundreds of parking spaces within walking distance of the event. Directions:

EAST

  • From I -376 heading East (from Downtown), take the Oakland/Forbes Ave. Exit. At the third light, make a left on McKee. Cross over Fifth Avenue. Continue to the top of the hill. Make a right at the stoplight onto Aliquippa St. The OC Lot will be on your left (the Petersen Events Center is on your right one block from OC Lot.

WEST

  • From I-376 heading West (from Monroeville), take the Oakland Exit. Bear right to the top of the hill. Cross over the Boulevard of the Allies. Go three blocks and make a left on McKee Street. Continue to the top of the hill. Make a right at the stoplight onto Aliquippa St. The OC Lot will be on your left (the Petersen Events Center is on your right one block from OC Lot.)

Parking:
Over 600 parking spaces are located across the street from the Petersen Events Center in the OC Parking Lot. You may also use the Towerview parking garage with over 1,000 parking spaces. This garage is located under the Cost Center adjacent to the OC Parking Lot. Event parking for these two facilities will be $10.00. There are several other parking garages within walking distance of the Petersen Events Center. Prices of these other lots may vary. Both

Hotel Accommodations:
There are dozens of hotels/motels within twenty-minute drive to the competition site. For information and some recommendations click here

General Admission:
The competition is open to the public. Admission fee is $10 per person. Children five years of age and under will be admitted FREE.

Concessions:
Concessions will be available throughout the day. Numerous stations will be available throughout the facility.

Medical Service:
A paramedic service will be on site in the event of an emergency. While paramedics will attend to those needing medical attention, they will not tape wrists, ankles, etc. Apparel & Accessories for Sale: Cheerleading and Dance souvenirs will be available for purchase. Items include T-Shirts, sweatshirts, shorts, bags, and much more. Prices range from $3 to $25. Cash and personal checks will be accepted.

Videotaping:
Personal video cameras are permitted. Cameras are not permitted near the performance area. This area is reserved for Elite Staff members and “on deck” teams.
Note: During your team’s performance there will be a VIP viewing
section available near the performance area for one representative to videotape your team’s performance.
